Muscle strain is caused by micro-tears that take place due to the pulling of the flexor muscle or because of excessive usage of the hip muscles either by stretching, running or other activities. In order to get rid of the hip flexor strain, there are a number of hip flexor strain exercises related to the region and intensity of pain. A person suffering from hip flexor strain can do a number of stretches that will relieve his pain but it should be remembered that if exercising causes the pain to further increase, then professional help should be taken. For the purpose of reduction of hip flexor pain, consider doing the following exercises three times a day.
One of the best hip flexor strain exercises is a simple hip flexor stretch. It requires the body to bend on one knee. After which you put forward any one of your legs in order to compress the lower back region of your body. Next step require the movement of hips in a forward direction until the body feels stretched. Do the same process with the other leg. This exercise requires not more than 20-30 seconds.
Another one of the hip flexor strain exercises requires you to lie down on the floor with legs straight. Move the leg to the extent that it produce a stretch in the painful muscles of the hip region. Now put your foot back on the floor. Again tense the muscles around the strained muscle and pull the leg in upward position. At this point, your strained flexor muscle should be stiffened while your other leg should be straight up. Slowly and gradually bring the leg down. This exercise requires being repeated 12-15 times at least. There is a long list of hip flexor strain exercises that help reduce pain and flex the strained muscle back in position. These exercises include hip flexor stretch, heel slide and straight leg exercises which are recommended according to the intensity and region of the strain.
